Next Stop: New Haven Wal-Mart Station

The Transportation Committee came up with this one:

The Commissioner of Transportation shall develop and implement procedures in accordance with the general statutes for the leasing of naming rights to transit stations and other transit-owned property to private corporations and organizations. The commissioner shall use the proceeds of any such lease to defray mass transit costs.

I hope they pass it. Transportation in Connecticut isn’t annoying enough, yet.

    I wonder if they’ll have any takers. Those trains are pretty old, and they don’t have the best reputation. Not something you think most companies would want to be that closely associated with…

    I’m personally hoping Subway signs on. “Subway Station” or “Subway Train” would provoke mass confusion.
