I guess that I don't take Dodd seriously as a presidential candidate ... and Lamont's support for Dodd makes me think that he does not take this next presidential election very seriously. Lamont could probably be very helpful to whichever presidential candidate he chooses. I would also not be surprised to see him get a job in the next president's administration if the next president is a Democrat. I think that Lamont would have his most fun by focusing his political energy in this way. In my opinion, Shays will have an easy time winning in the future -- 2006 was the year for him to get knocked out if it was going to happen. Lamont would probably feel like a big-time loser to spend a lot of energy taking on Shays and then losing.
