- Last day of session comments in this thread.

Late Editions:

- Here is a statement from Acorn and CTWF on the Paid sick days bill (or lack thereof – I’m looking at you House) (via email):

“We are very proud of the support we’ve built in Connecticut for the simple idea that no one should have to go to work sick. The bill has generated broad support in the community as well as in the legislature. We’ve passed a bill through the Senate by a wide margin – a first in the nation. We’ve even rounded up the votes to pass the bill in the House. We call on the Speaker of the House to bring the bill to a vote.”

“We are sorry to learn that business lobbyists oppose a measure to make workplaces safer, healthier, and more productive. We look forward to bringing up the bill again next year. In the meantime, workers will just have to do their best to schedule their illnesses for the weekend.”

Emphasis mine.

I want to complain that I don’t get deleted nearly enough. Come on, you [expletive, expletive]!

CT-N has video of the quickie DeLuca-McKinney news conference in which they both refused to respond to questions about whether DeLuca will remain as Senate Minority Leader, then run away.

Gabe talked to Colin McEnroe (mp3) about the New Hampshire Presidential debate.

Colin also talked about the Julie Amero case.

Not for nothing, but Amman has had to remind members to stay in the chamber because they are going fast like 12 times in the last hour. How freakin’ hard is it to just stay in the chamber?

    Gabe,

All the food is in the caucus roon and I saw a Shitload of people packing coolers full of beer and bringing them into the capitol today.

I have a feeling alot of people in our state government are going to be blasted by 1am and quite a few may even get lucky in the nooks and crannies of our Capitol tonight.

Hey, why not? If illegal immigrants are being targeted by muggers due to the racism of our immigration policy, why can’t the cat population be blamed on global warming?

Liberals ought to institute a “laugh test” whereby if you can’t assert a proposterous opinion on something without either laughing or making everyone around you laugh, you shouldn’t even bother.

These conservative, racist scientists will apparently stop at nothing (NOTHING, I say!) in their efforts to kill us all. The NERVE of these people!

I think the justice department should investigate hurricanes and tornados because they always target poor and minority communities. It is a blatant violation of their constitutional rights – just like forcing illegal immigrants to walk the streets with large sums of cash in their pockets.
