Polling eh? Who knew that Thompson was so well funded. Someone should sue HIM for $100 million.

It seems that Mel Thompson hasn't quite given up yet, though he's pouting about his lack of progress.

STATEMENT REGARDING COURTRULING AND WRITE-IN CANDIDACY

I would first like to thank the U.S. District Court in Bridgeport for their efforts in moving so quickly on this very important matter. The case will continue and none of the issues have been dismissed as of this time. This hearing was only regarding ballot access not the other issues in the complaint. As to the threats and racial remarks thrown at me for over a year, I am not going to allow my life to be defined by a few ignorant people who unfortunately live in my town. I will continue the race as a write-in candidate and pursue the court action with all means at my disposal. Anthony Staffieri and Laura Wabno are a disgrace to this city and are not qualified to be in their positions. They are incompetent and are not legitimate candidates for any elective office. Secondly, none of the evidence has been seen yet and this case will take a while but it has no bearing on the election at this point. The poor schools, dishonest government and corruption that have plagued this city are the issues not one motion in a case that is likely going to go on for two years. Yes I am angry and yes I am hurt by what has happed and although at the time of this decision I was ready to simply give up and move out of the city I was born in and leave the Valley, this would be giving this human garbage that has yelled Nigger at my home within earshot of my 4 year old daughter what they want but do not deserve. I will not only stay here I will continue to be involved and a thorn in the side of corrupt politicians for years to come. I will continue to fight for better schools, jobs and clean government for the people of Derby and Connecticut.

And based on extensive independent research, he's ready to write his victory speech.

This campaign has a month left, the polls internal and external show we can win and we will give this effort our best as I always have in everything I have ever done.

CGG and DR, I'm really glad that this ridiculous lawsuit against you two has gone nowhere. I'll leave it at that since I'd rather not be sued myself. :-)

It s not the Yankees that bother me, its Yankee fans... ;)[/quote]

I like days like today, when the team insignia magically disappears, and things become suddenly nice and quiet.

It will grow quieter still if Carmona wins tonight. (and he'll have to win it, as one can't imagine that Petite will blow a game a la Wang last night.)

I'm telling you my friend was involved in the Florida voting controversy. He's all into these conspiracy theories. He really believes that the election was stolen from Gore & Kerry too (in Ohio). He thinks MLB is fixed and that George Bush (with his ties to MLB) is assisting the league. He suggests that some of these people who helped rig the elections are assisting MLB to do the same thing to maximize television revenue. He told me that the Yankees will be in the series against a surprise team. I suspect that is the Rockies.

He told me to look at the Sunday's TV lineup...3 games...1 in NY, 1 in Chi, 1 in LA. Now you must be wondering what's up with the Rockies...the Rockies would supress the notion of a fix and as long as the Yankees are in it revenue will soar! As long as the Yankees get out of the ALDS, the team they play in the ALCS doesn't matter becasue it would be either BOS or LA. Both of those teams against the Yankees would bring in good ratings.

It'll be a Sox-Rox World Series. Though the Sox-Indians ALCS could go 7 games.

More on topic, though. Matt Holliday is one of my favorite players, but I have serious doubts about whether he touched the plate in that tiebreaker game against the Padres. I'm suing.

Mr. Reality,
I was watching the strike zone closely last night as you suggested we did. It didn't appear to me Yankees got any breaks or that the strike zone had been expanded as you predicted it would be.

Just an update on the baseball playoffs...notice how he Rockies are up 2-0? Also look for a Yankees victory tonight. Tonight is the night that the plate will be expanded for Andy Pettitte. Laugh all you want...Yanks/Colorado World Series.
