The big money is pouring into the 4th district race again. Rep. Chris Shays has raised $591,515 this quarter, and now has $1,698,104 on hand. No report yet for Jim Himes, but I imagine his will be near that.

Fourth District Q2 2006:
Christopher Shays (R) – $638,000 ($1.5 million on hand)
Diane Farrell (D) – $788,000 ($1.4 million on hand)
So at this point, Shays raised somewhat less in Q2 2008 than in Q2 2006, but has more money on hand now than he did then. We’ll see what Himes’ report is shortly, I’m sure, but I expect both candidates will have plenty of money for the fall.
