Special Election Today in Bloomfield, Windsor

by Genghis Conn · March 24th, 2009, 6:53 am · No Comments

There is a special election today to fill the seat of the late state Rep. Faith McMahon in the 15th House District, which covers Bloomfield and part of Windsor. The three candidates, all of Bloomfield, are Democrat David Baram, Republican Joseph Merritt and a write-in candidate, Devaughn Ward.

You can read more about the candidates here.

The 15th is a heavily Democratic district, so it’s more than likely that the GOP’s streak of winning special elections will end here. The flurry of emails from the state Republican Party supporting their candidate which were sent out during the recent election in Naugatuck have been noticeably absent this time.
