Okay Mr. Nixon. Again, please tell me in what ways Simmons would part with the Senate GOP in favor of Obama’s agenda?

I hope he'd agree with Obama's decision to keep Guantanamo open. Good call, Mr. President.

You are in favor of a little sunshine, aren’t you Dobbsy?

Did you say whether you're a racist? I mean, anyone who attended a Tea Party is a racist to you, so... since you're calling Day Pitney "nefarious," apparently you don't like companies that donate thousands of dollars in kind to minority causes. By your own logic, doesn't that make you a racist?

I realize this is Connecticut but not everybody is as excited with Obama and the Democrats agenda as some here might be.

Right pufnstuf, Connecticut can't wait until Republicans are back in charge?!?

. Blumenthal and others should have shown Dodd the door but either lack the courage or integrity.

The correct answer is:

C: Both of of the above.

“I think Mr. Alpert is on a fool’s errand. If he does gain enough traction to where he might possibly beat Dodd, the Senator would drop out, opening the door for Dick Blumenthal.”

Perhaps, but I give Alpert a lot of credit for taking a stand. Blumenthal and others should have shown Dodd the door but either lack the courage or integrity. They should take some notes from Alpert.

Simmons will run as what is best for Connecticut not what is best for the GOP or the Democrats. This was a staple of his terms in Congress and it was National Journal that dubbed Simmons as one of the most “independent” members of Congress.

Never has Simmons been one to simply toe the party line, rather he will work for us again not the special interests which is what Dodd has been doing.

Okay Mr. Nixon. Again, please tell me in what ways Simmons would part with the Senate GOP in favor of Obama's agenda?

Right now all I hear is chirping crickets....

Hey Dobbsy, with Day, Pitney now having strings to not one, but two candidates for Connecticut's U.S. Senate seat, -- don't you think we deserve to learn much more about their syndicate?

Maybe it's not as bad as I think it is, (working to put loopholes in legislation, than helping clients around them), but your side of the aisle has made a big deal about Senator Dodd's relationships, even attacking Mrs. Dodd for hers!

So yeah, I want to know a lot more about the Day Pitney outfit, and particularly I'd like to see Sam Caligiuri's client list. Who's been paying him how much, to do exactly what?

Rob already said he would not have voted for Obama’s stimulus package.

That's because it's a terrible bill. Obama's plans will stifle growth and kill charitable giving, and won't stimulate anything. Dodd is all aboard the Obama Express.

Mind telling us what Simmons’ positive agenda is?

Mind telling us why Dodd deserves to return to the Senate after all he's done to the banking and credit industries in this country? Mind telling us how Day Pitney is "nefarious"? They're committed to a wide variety of pro bono and diversity initiatives. Are you a racist, Ed? Do you hate women, children and veterans, too?

Rob Simmons is not running a negative campaign he is pointing out to voters why Dodd has been wrong for Connecticut. And the above commentator makes the point that "the negative case against Dodd is already being made by Dodd himself."

PS-- I think Mr. Alpert is on a fool's errand. If he does gain enough traction to where he might possibly beat Dodd, the Senator would drop out, opening the door for Dick Blumenthal.

PSS- Did folks notice that Alpert also worked for that nefarious outfit Day, Pitney llp.

How can anyone who took Lamont seriously give this guy a hard time. As the above commenter stated– he probably has more political and legal experience than Lamont. Good for him. He’s got a supporter right here!

Yes, this is very very true. For all of those who decided to throw Lieberman under the bus for not being Democrat enough even though he votes with the party more than 90% of the time it's funny that Jonathan Pelto tries to diminish Alpert. Furthermore, Dodd is just as corrupt if not more so than his late father so it only makes sense that Dems. would want to challenge Dodd. I say the more the merrier. Dodd doesn't own his seat, the PEOPLE of Connecticut do and he SHOULD have to defend it hard both from the Dems. and the GOP.

If the establishment bothers to try and drum Merrick Alpert out of this race, (as they did with Ned Lamont), it only means they are scared of him and the damage he might do.

Me, I've never seen the value in heavy-handedness. Sure, it sends a "you better stay in line" message to political cronies, but to more independent-minded voters it's a real turn-off. What's wrong with democracy and giving voters a choice?

Good luck to Mr. Alpert, and please keep it on the positive. (the negative case against Dodd is already being made by Rob Simmons -- the guy with no agenda but to stop Obama.)

If the establishment bothers to try and drum Merrick Alpert out of this race, (as they did with Ned Lamont), it only means they are scared of him and the damage he might do.

Me, I’ve never seen the value in heavy-handedness. Sure, it sends a “you better stay in line” message to political cronies, but to more independent-minded voters it’s a real turn-off. What’s wrong with democracy and giving voters a choice?

Good luck to Mr. Alpert, and please keep it on the positive. (the negative case against Dodd is already being made by Rob Simmons — the guy with no agenda but to stop Obama.)

How can anyone who took Lamont seriously give this guy a hard time. As the above commenter stated-- he probably has more political and legal experience than Lamont. Good for him. He's got a supporter right here!

Alpert has more experience than Ned Lamont had in working in government and will be a nice contrasting image to the glitzy DC look of Dodd
