Former Speaker James Amman on Governor M. Jodi Rell’s decision not to run for re-election and how it affects his chances in the 2010 Governor’s race:
“It’s as I predicted, but no one listens to me because I’m a has-been,” Amann quipped, adding that with Rell out and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal on record as not interested in running for governor next year, his chances are very good.
“The stars are now aligned for me,” Amann said.

Now compare that to what Mike Huckabee said earlier this week:
“Some of the people who had excoriated me and really been very dismissive of me for views that I had taken, and labeled me anything from a populist to an ignoramus — the same people have been very defensive [of] and laudatory to Sarah Palin… I’m glad she’s getting the props — I know I’m not nearly as attractive… I was scratching my head, saying, ‘Hey, wait a minute. She’s wonderful, but the only difference was she looks better in stilettos than I do, and she has better hair.’ It wasn’t so much a gender issue, but it was like they suddenly decided that everything they disliked about me was O.K. . . . She was given a pass by some of the very people who said I wasn’t prepared.”
So what do Huckabee and Amman have in common? They are both whiny losers because they aren’t getting the attention they think they somehow deserve.
Here’s a clue to both of them: if you quit your job, then try to run for a better job a few years later, you don’t have much of a sounding board. Huckabee has that awful show on Fox.

My wife & I, a PM of my lodge, a guy in the church choir, an Israeli freind, and couple of former co-workers all think it’s the best show on TV.
Go figure.
