If Obama’s a socialist, his comrades aren’t happy
The post covers the response from the Socialist Party of Connecticut to President Obama’s plan to increase the number of American troops in Afghanistan:
We hope that the disenchanted popular movement that brought this administration into power on a tide of “hope” and “change” will not walk away and become apathetic. We invite them instead to join a real movement for real change starting tomorrow, Wednesday Dec. 2, at 4:30pm by joining us and dozens of other groups to protest the war escalation in front of the Federal Buildings in Hartford and New Haven and demand that our public assets return home to serve our public good!
Workers of the world, unite. There is no word on whether they will validate parking.

Guns and Butter is the new Democratic slogan.
Where’s the pictures of Dodd and Obama on a tank or christening a sub at EB or riding in a new Sikorsky aircraft?
Good sleight of hand here by Obama. Speak like a peacenik, collect a Nobel Prize, and carry a huge troop commitment into the MidEast to further tank the Democratc hopes of picking up additional seats in 2010. Rush Limbaugh must be appaled. Who ever thought Obama would be a closet war hawk and a Blue Dog by nature?
What’s next? Joining Dubya and Haliburton in the Kingdom of Dubya and bailing out Dubya National Bank as part of the next stimulus package? Just what I wanted with my tax refund, An IOU and some warrants for Dubya National Bank.
Obama’s position on Afghanistan has been consistent, I’ll give him that. Here he is from July 08.
“Losing is not an option when it comes to al-Qaeda. And it never has been. And that’s why the fact that we engaged in a war of choice when were not yet finished with that task was such a mistake.”

I wouldn’t call Obama a Bluedog given his propensity to spend money but those who called him a Peacenik and a Socialist are (deliberately) mischaracterizing him as well. The most surprising, or least surprising thing, depending on your view of Democrats, is how Obama’s own brand of politics are in the end so conventional.
“There is no word on whether they will validate parking.”
I don’t get it.
As for Obama’s reasoning? ‘This is where the terrorists come from.’ Where have I heard that before? Obama never once let it be known he even considered pulling out of Afghanistan, all for a phantom foe whose leader probably died nearly a decade ago. Don’t be fooled by any talk of “hope,” the only change I’m seeing is that the quagmire in Afghanistan is Obama’s War now.
It’s been over eight years since the attacks the President uses to justify this folly. Personally, I think all the money, resources, and manpower lost in the middle of nowhere would have been better spent rebuilding the towers and focusing on the homefront.
I’m watching MSNBC right now while getting ready for my hard-earned job: Joe Lieberman is on, speaking praises of troop increase.
Joe Zion has nothing to be ashamed of.
If I was Jewish I’d hold the same positions and view regional destabilization in Israel’s interest.
Is it in CT’s interest to pursue HealthCare solutions (SustiNet) locally, appease the insurers, and vote pro-military on arms programs that benefit CT? Possibly so. Short-sighted or not many of our congresmen have made that choice for years.
Given the deficit and unemployment is health care reform the biggesst priority? I don’t know. I support it, but who really does?
Palpatine is an easy read and treu to his convictions. There are others that vocalise the word ‘change’ all too often and prey on the good will of the people and deliver nothing except accusations.
Watch Iran: Ahmadinejad is getting feisty. Testing the new Novel Peace Prize winner and Europe wit a commitment to go 20% grade uranium in 10 facilities. And they think minarets are a problem. We will either have to pay him off or there will be a UN miltary action against Iran. Since we have troops in the area anyway and no one’s minding the deficit……..
Oops. Some typos. Larry Ellison won the Novell Peace Prize, not Obama…..
Moderated? What the heck?
There’s a “Socialist Party of Connecticut?”
