Stimulus Money Creating Jobs in State

According to a report by ABC News, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the Stimulus) has created 25 jobs in Connecticut’s 42nd Congressional District.

Governor to Veto Fee Hikes

Governor Rell will veto the proposed fee increases offered by the Democratically-controlled Legislature:

Fees Going Up: Budget Battles Continue

The State Senate yesterday approved $50 million in fee increases yesterday, including increases in just about every DMV fee.
The fee increases seem to mainly be because of an amendment that no one wants to take credit for.
The legislature will be coming back into session this afternoon to finish up the budget. Maybe.

Governor Approval Dips to New Low

Governor M. Jodi Rell’s approval rating has dipped to a new low according to a new Quinnipiac Poll. 59% of those surveyed expressed approval for the Governor’s job performance compared to 34% declaring disapproval.
Poll Director Doug Schwartz described the new numbers this way:
