Even more updates from the Bush Dinner

Chris Healy:

“We will become the majority party in Connecticut.”

Republicans “have the Democrats on the run in Hartford.”

“[Chris Shays will win] despite who they put up against him, whether it be Ned Lamont or Teddy Kennedy Jr.”

“2008 is our great opportunity, because we are winning the battle of ideas.”

A big round of applause the first time Fred Thompson is mentioned.

The crowd absolutely loves Healy. And why not? He fires them up, feeds them applause lines (CGG says cheap shots), and seems absolutely ready to fight.

Lawrence Kudlow

“For the past six years, we have enjoyed a tremendous stock market, economic boom.”

“Since 9/11 the nation has been safe and sound and secure.” Tepid applause.

“We have foiled fourteen jihadist plots [against America]… every single one of them has been foiled in the past five years.”

“In Iraq, warts and all, the reality is that the courageous and brave fighting forces, American men and women, have deposed a genocidal and dangerous dictator, have fostered… a working democracy, and are today cleaning out … terrorist sanctuaries in the worst parts of Iraq.”

When he mentioned George W. Bush, some applauded loudly, but others (maybe a third) did not applaud or applauded weakly. Good food?

“The Democrats have turned completely McGovernite on national security… they cannot be trusted to defend the nation.”

Some (mild) applause for Joe Lieberman, when he was mentioned (in contrast to Lamont).

Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele

Compared Jodi Rell to Pres. Bush: both are “people who care” about us.

Gov. Jodi Rell

She thanks Chris Healy: BIG applause for Chris Healy–probably the biggest of the night. She describes him as a “fighter.”

“[Healy] just loves to fight with the Democrats in Hartford.”

More updates in the next post.

So far, so predictable. If I were Thompson I would be set up with a few slams at the Democratric “supermajority” in Hartford in order to appease the GOP money makers and ensure good play in tomorrow’s “liberal media” who — judging by the photos — all seem to be there.

Larry Kudlow was a speaker at the dinner? You’ve got to be kidding me. Not only is Kudlow co-founder of the Club for Growth PAC that backed a primary challenger to Lincoln Chafee, (seriously damaging him to the point of probably costing the GOP the RI Senate seat), but he is also the staunchest advocate for the privatization of Social Security.

Well, it’s glad to know the CT GOP won’t be turning back from the brink anytime soon!

Can you ask Chris Healy how his Troop Recruitment is going among the Young republicans and The College Republicans?

I sure hope he got his Fisrt recruit by now.

Sure. Perhaps we can also ask Nancy DiNardo how many union thugs she’s got at election time who derive their paychecks from the over- taxed taxpayers of our state tomorrow.
