Thanks to CNN’s ratings; more people will probably see it here via the link than ever did on cable.

    What’s CNN?

I bet Fox News is trying to fine one of the three elected Republican legislators in the state right now. Oh, yeah 2, they wouldn’t dare talk to DeLuca.

I can’t help but think this news story is missing the point. I think too much is being made of the “cold calculating predator” remark from the judge. Some seem to think that if the parole board had seen those words, they would have refused parole. I truly doubt it.

Everyone is looking for that magic thing that was missed that could have prevented this. I’m not sure it can be found with the parole board.

What we really need is the reclassification of burglary, and for convicts to actually serve their full sentences. Oh yes, and a speedier death penalty.

HH, I rarely agree with you, but I think you’re rational and right on the money with this one.

Oh my goodneth! Well, let’s just hope for your sake they don’t end up just talking to the 25% of Democrat legislators classified as the “worst” according to MLN, partially because they actually took a stance against crime.

    Thanks juju.

Are you in favor of the death penalty? Don’t recall seeing a post from you on it.

  • 8 jujubee // Aug 1, 2007 at 9:51 am ·

Wholeheartedly agree with it. Don’t think that I’ve ever posted it here. We have a penchant to just put individuals on death row, and let them attain pen pals and live off our dimes. I was sickened when the state actually put up a fight to not allow the death of Michael Ross. No case warrants it more than this.

Well said. These two in this case are precisely the sort of monsters the death penalty should be reserved for. Death Row in CT is little more than a retirement home for murderers. You should get your appeals quickly, and then get snuffed if guilty. I think within four years of initial conviction is perfectly reasonable.

What on earth are you talking about?

Lawlor is doing what politicians do. Blame others before some blame him. He won’t be getting a profile in courage award any time soon.

I largely agree with Headless Horseman’s first post.

As much as I would love to beat up the liberals, I can’t fault the parole board with letting these two seemingly petty criminals go.

The younger one served most of his sentence. HH is right. People are looking for a magic thing we can say “That’s it” but its not there.

It may sound simplistic to some but we need to blame the criminals for the choices they made. They are full grown adults and they consciously decided to do what they did.

Both of them should be executed — soon. We need to streamline the appeals process so these men do not live a lifetime before justice is carried out.
