Congratulations are in order

by CGG · November 28th, 2007, 5:47 pm · 19 Comments

Derek Slap is the Senate Democrats’ new Communications Director. Derek has previously served as spokesperson for both Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz and Mayor John DeStefano. He’s also known to the CTLP community as Slap.

Congratulations Derek!

on topic in the sense that Slap may be interested for his own purposes…

though MLN already does this in a sense…

I think this is brilliant. I hope the GOP picks up on this… to me, this is about transparency, which inevitably leads to accountability… and that’s more important than party affiliation.

I find it interesting that neither Ron Paul nor Huckabee are included…

    and btw, congratulations.

    Slap on.

    Slap off.

    Slap on, slap off.

    The Slapper.

    Con- slap-ulations, Derek!

Lets see Susan Bysiewicz losing respect and power each year.

Mayor John DeStefano just losing the biggest race he’ll ever be in last year.

What’s next, is Donnie W. going lose Senate seats or to run and lose the governorship in 2010?

Well don’t be too sour about it. On the day I post a congratulations message on the front page here for a Republican staffer attaining a new post, we’ll see worse I’m sure.

    I wasn’t sour, I was snarky.

    Must be a slow day….

No offense to Mr. Slap, but I hardly consider this newsworthy.

No, you won’t. Same for when a Republican drops by to liveblog. The abusive comments very rarely come from the left on this site.

Come on, CGG. I’m on that left side myself, and even I can admit that those abusive comments come from all over the spectrum. They’re hardly limited to any “left/right” divide….I’ve seen each side seemingly go out of their way to slam the other.

I’m not sure how we are calculating this, but if we are including people’s comments that never saw the light of day, then the right wins hands down because of the comments of the infamous Mr. X.

Of course, if you made Mr. X his own team, he would win hands down.

In fairness I think Mr. X was in fact his own team. There were days when he’d send up to 60 comments an hour. I wish I were exaggerating.

I’m a Democrat, though I do sit somewhere just right of center. When people get at each other’s throats on here, I’ll most often side with the Right. Still, I’ve definitely noticed MUCH less hostility coming from the more liberal posters on CTLP lately, and I think it’s a great improvement. We’re not in an endless screaming match anymore (emphasis on endless) and I think we’re better off.

Congratulations to Derek Slap. He’s damn good at his job, and the Senate Dems are lucky to have him.

I think I have moderated out about 5,002 comments total and 5,000 were from Mr. X (and all 5,000 were pretty much the same).
