Sunday Night

Chris Dodd (D-IA, as the joke goes), is running out of time. He has less than a month to make his case to the people of Iowa. He hasn’t managed to break out of the pack–instead, he’s still at 1% in recent polls. Iowa is hard to predict, and it’s anyone’s guess what could happen on caucus night… but I don’t think that a Dodd win is going to be in the cards. I don’t think a Mike Huckabee-style surge is coming for Dodd. There just isn’t that deep, deep discontent on the Democratic side with the entire field of nominees.

Also, Dodd doesn’t have the big guns willing to fight for him celebrity-wise. Clinton has her husband. Huckabee had Chuck Norris. McCain had Roger Staubach. Obama has OPRAH, for crying out loud. I mean, wow.

I saw some highlights of Mitt Romney’s speech. I never liked him, but now I dislike him even more. I really need to know just what Massachusetts was smoking when they elected him. Oh, well. I don’t see him winning at this point.

A grand jury has been empaneled for Eddie Perez. Who knows what will happen there… one to watch.

A study says that a stricter three-strikes law won’t protect against most violent acts. But I doubt that’ll stop the legislature from passing one. We’ll see.

Why is everything in this state ultimately about garbage? I ask you.
