The ending of Chris Dodd’s speech:

No more blowing through the laws. Not here. Not tonight. Not this member. Not on this bill. No more blowing through the bills. You don’t get granted retroactive immunity – not as long as I can stand here and fight this. And I intend to do just that.

I’m hearing that we can look forward to a repeat of this fight next year. Dodd may have to filibuster all over again. It’s enough to give anyone a headache.

But thank goodness someone had the guts to stand up for our rights. That’s what sticks out about this particular fight. No other Senator, Republican or Democrat would have. They would have just allowed retroactive immunity through.

Dodd was a real hero yesterday but what’s sad is that he had to be.
