10:56pm – Okay, final update. It looks like Musto is the winner down in Brigeport, although absentees are still being counted.

Tim LeGeyt does appear also to have won in Avon and Canton.

Mostly a very good night for incumbents and endorsed candidates. And Jim Himes’s win was convincing, he is in good shape heading into the general election. More tomorrow!

10:09pm – Lennie Grimaldi says Grogins defeats Keeley. Keeley is the only incumbent to lose tonight.

9:51pm – Two tight races in Bridgeport: Rep. Keeley is trailing Auden Grogins, and Anthony Musto is ahead of Marilyn Moore. Absentee ballots could decide these contests.

9:31pm – Conflicting reports on the 17th district primary. GOP says Harrison the winner, Courant says LeGeyt. However, the Courant’s totals are lower than what the AP is reporting, so I’m guessing they’re missing a precinct.

9:25pm – Abe Giles has conceded to Rep. Kirkley-Bey in Hartford, after being soundly defeated. …Whew.

9:21pm – Himes claims victory in an email to supporters. A snip from the text:

I’m just about to head out to a gathering of supporters, but I wanted to quickly let you know the official news: we won the primary!

I am honored that Democrats in our district have entrusted me with the nomination to take on Chris Shays on November 4th.

That’s only 12 weeks from tonight.

Voters in our district made a very clear statement today: they are tired of the last eight years of government malfeasance, incompetence, and disaster perpetuated by the administration of George Bush, and enabled by his allies like Chris Shays. Like you and me, they want a fundamental change in the direction of our country.

Now we have twelve weeks of hard work ahead of us against a Republican machine that we know will pull out all the stops to keep this seat.

9:20pm – Jason Rojas wins the Democratic primary in the 9th house district.

9:14pm – Sen. Fonfara wins, surviving a challenge from Ed Vargas in Hartford.

With 1 of 5 precincts in, Marie Kirkley-Bey is winning over Abe Giles in Hartford by a wide margin.

9:09pm – Clif Thompson the winner in the GOP primary in the 9th house district, according to The Everyday Republican.

9:08pm – Witkos the winner over Wertheimer. Johnson the winner over White.

Corky Mazurek survives round one in the 80th district 563-489. Karen Houghtaling will still be on the ballot on the WFP line in November.

9:03pm – In a final indignity, the Connecticut Post gets Lee Whitnum’s name wrong.

8:55pm – Only in Bridgeport reports that Caruso wins (sorry, Larry Cafero), as have Andres Ayala and Eziquiel Santiago. The Musto-Moore race is too close to call.

8:51pm – First 9th House district results (E. Hartford, Manchester, Glastonbury) shows Rojas ahead of Hachey on the Democratic side, and Thompson ahead of Brenner and Crockett. Vote totals are very, very low.

Susan Johnson is winning handily out in Windham.

8:50pmCourant results show Musto ahead of Moore, but I’m guessing Bridgeport hasn’t come in yet.

8:45pmEarly results from Only in Bridgeport. Rep. Keeley is behind Auden Grogins, and looks to be in some serious trouble.

8:38pmCourant results show Kevin Witkos absolutely CRUSHING Moira Wertheimer 85%-15%.

Duane Perkins the winner in Danbury by a wide margin.

Harrison barely edging LeGeyt in Avon and Canton (House district 17), with 2 of 3 precincts reporting.

Mazurek leading Houghtaling with one precinct in.

Rep. Deborah Heinrich a winner in district 101.

8:35pm – Gary Holder-Winfield over Charles Blango in New Haven. This is an upset, a defeat of an endorsed candidate, and a defeat for the DeStefano machine.

8:25pm – Himes winning handily. You can see all in Gabe’s 4th CD liveblog.

Some close races down in Bridgeport (scroll to the end).

Noujaim leading Carlascio in Waterbury…

Very little else out there right now.

Okay, it’s 8:00, and the polls are closed.

Results will come in over the next hour or so, and I’ll post them as soon as I get them.
