Rep. Sayers Gets Democratic Challenger
March 5th, 2008 · 47 Comments
It looks like Rep. Peggy Sayers (D-Windsor Locks) will face a primary this year, as Adam Gutcheon, vice president of the Windsor school board, has announced his intention to run against her. Sayers has taken the odd approach of attacking him right off the bat:
While [Gutcheon’s] been in politics for a few years - serving […]

Civil War at the Capitol

Right now the biggest rift in Hartford is not the one between the Governor and the Democratic General Assembly, it’s the rift between the Democratic leadership in the House and the Senate. In talking with several Democratic legislators, they have confirmed that the conflict between Democrats in the House and Senate is preventing the […]

“No” for the Ninth Time
February 14th, 2008 · 14 Comments
Seems like every other day there is a new report on Connecticut’s “Independent Democrat” U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman declaring he has no interest in running as a vice presidential candidate on a McCain ticket. It’s an understandable fascination with some, considering how not so long ago, Lieberman was Al Gore’s vice presidential running mate for […]

And it wasn’t close. With 79% of precincts reporting, Obama is up over Clinton 59% to 41%. This was the contest that Clinton was seen as having the best shot. Clearly it was a very good weekend for Obama with next weekend also looking very favorable for him.

February 9th, 2008 · 21 Comments
Sen. Joe Lieberman, who endorsed Sen. John McCain for president and campaigned vigorously for him, will be disqualified as a superdelegate at the Democratic convention under what is informally known as the Zell Miller rule. The Myth of Joe Lieberman (John McCain)
December 27th, 2007 · 32 Comments
The McCain campaign blasted an email from none other than CT’s own Joe Lieberman today. In it Lieberman explains his endorsement of John McCain calling him “no ordinary candidate.” If the email sounds familiar that’s because this is nothing more than Joe Lieberman’s best hits: digitally remastered and compiled on a three disc […]
